Whilst striving to deliver intelligent and exemplary projects, we're equally committed to enjoying the process along the way.
AGRICULTURE
Our agriculture sector is a value-adding component of the Galloway Group. Focused on breeding quality Angus cattle and valuable crop production, Takajo Pastoral Company operates across three properties in the southern NSW.
Wongadrah located on the Snowy Mountains Highway west of Adelong; Woodleigh, east of Tarcutta; and Red Hill situated along the Murrumbidgee River at Euberta, west of Wagga Wagga.
Wongadrah
Wongadrah covers 3,642 acres with brown loam rising to high undulating granite and timbered slopes and frontages to the Nacki Nacki and Spring Creeks.
There are 150 acres of improved pastures, 140 acres of annual fodder cropping and 20 acres of lucern to support the growth and development of 550 Angus cows and calves.
A central laneway system services each paddock and assists the movement of cattle across the property and to the two sets of cattle yards. Water is provided by two bores and the many troughs service each paddock.
Redhill
Red Hill is set along the Murrumbidgee River on 640 acres of brown loam, rising to red loam.
128 acres are under centre pivot irrigation and large capital construction includes covered feed pad, horse stables, machinery shed and cattle yards.
As well as crop production, Red Hill supports 100 Angus cows and calves. It has a large modern four bedroom home and a three bedroom cottage.
Woodleigh
Woodleigh spans 428 hectares, with soils ranging from deep, heavy brown clay soils on the creek flats to brown granitic loams on the hillsides.
Significant time and capital have been invested into boosting livestock production through the development of high-performance pastures in rotation with grazing cereals.
Woodleigh’s reliable reticulated water system is supplied from a bore below the residence and cattle yards, with water pumped by a submersible electric pump to a header tank to then feed 16 concrete water troughs.
All paddocks benefit from at least one dam or trough, with the property’s 9 dams positioned in several valleys providing large catchment areas.
